French hot chocolate à l’américaine
Print Recipe
I often made this kind of hot chocolate (designated as French in an American cookbook) for the kids' birthdays.
Ingredients
- 165 ml whipping cream
- 150 g dark chocolate
- 250 ml milk
- 2 tsp Kahlúa
- marshmallows
Instructions
- Bring the whipping cream to a boil, remove from the heat and whisk in the chocolate, broken into pieces. Whisk it well.
- Now add the milk and return to the heat until warm but not boiling.
- Add Kahlúa, pour into small cups and top with marshmallows.
Notes
Especially the marshmallow bit doesn’t strike me as being particularly French, but it was lovely!
