Ann’s Pork Chops in Orange Sauce

This dish was often on the menu when Phyllis was a kid.
Ingredients
- 4 pork chops
- 300 ml orange juice
- ½ tsp ground ginger
- 1 tbsp oil
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- salt & pepper to taste
- 1 orange sliced
- watercress for garnish
Instructions
- Heat the oil in a pan and brown the pork chops on both sides.
- Remove the chops from the pan and drain off any surplus oil.
- Return the chops to the pan. Add the orange juice, brown sugar, and ground ginger. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Cover the pan and let the chops simmer for 25 minutes, turning them once or twice during cooking.
- Uncover the pan and adjust the seasoning if needed.
- Arrange the pork chops on a serving dish. Pour over the sauce and garnish each chop with slices of orange and watercress.
