Jeera Aloo

A lovely potato dish that's particularly good with Favourite Curry.
Ingredients
- 500 g potatoes boiled and peeled
- 2 tbsp oil or ghee
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp mustard seeds optional
- 1 green chilli finely chopped, optional
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- ½ tsp red chilli powder adjust to taste
- ½ tsp ground coriander
- Salt to taste
- ½ lemon for juicing
- Fresh coriander leaves chopped for garnish
Instructions
- Cut the boiled potatoes into cubes.
- Heat the oil or ghee in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Add cumin seeds (and mustard seeds if using). Let them sizzle for a few seconds until aromatic.
- Add the green chilli (if using) and stir for a moment.
- Add the turmeric, red chilli powder, ground coriander, and salt. Stir to combine.
- Toss in the potato cubes and mix well to coat them with the spices.
- Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are slightly crispy on the edges.
- Squeeze over the lemon juice and garnish with fresh coriander.
- Serve warm alongside your rogan josh feast.
