Sambar Powder

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp coriander seeds
  • 1 tsp chana dal
  • 2 tsp toor dal
  • ¼ tsp fenugreek seeds
  • 3-4 black peppercorns
  • 1/2-1 cm dried red chilli or more
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 2-3 dried curry leaves optional
  • 1 pinch turmeric powder

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a frying pan and roast coriander seeds, chana dal, toor dal, fenugreek seeds, black peppercorns and dried chilli until the chana dal turns golden brown.
  • Grind the spice mixture to a powder in a spice grinder, or to a paste in a blender.
