Sambar Powder

Essential for making Sambar.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp coriander seeds
- 1 tsp chana dal
- 2 tsp toor dal
- ¼ tsp fenugreek seeds
- 3-4 black peppercorns
- 1/2-1 cm dried red chilli or more
- 1 tsp oil
- 2-3 dried curry leaves optional
- 1 pinch turmeric powder
Instructions
- Heat oil in a frying pan and roast coriander seeds, chana dal, toor dal, fenugreek seeds, black peppercorns and dried chilli until the chana dal turns golden brown.
- Grind the spice mixture to a powder in a spice grinder, or to a paste in a blender.
