Achiote Marinated Pork Chops

A delicious way to cook pork chops, using the Mexican ingredient achiote.

Ingredients

  • 5 pork chops nakkekoteletter
  • 2 tbsp achiote paste
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 orange juiced
  • 1 lime juiced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp ground chipotle chilli
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for cooking

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix the achiote paste, minced garlic, orange juice, lime juice, cumin, oregano, chilli and salt to create the marinade.
  • Coat the pork chops with the marinade, ensuring they are well covered. Marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight in the refrigerator for deeper flavor.
  • Heat a grill or skillet with a bit of oil over medium-high heat.
  • Cook the pork chops for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 63°C.
  • Let the pork chops rest for a few minutes before serving.
