This is Idith (my grandmother)'s old recipe.

Ingredients

kg
minced pork and beef
2
eggs
1
bread roll
soaked in milk
Salt and pepper
1
onion, chopped
optional
Bacon
for covering
Red currant juice or jelly
Extra milk
Instructions
Mix the meat with the eggs, breadcrumbs (or soaked roll), salt, pepper and onion.
Shape into a loaf and cover with bacon.
Pour over milk and a splash of redcurrant juice.
Bake in the oven at 200°C for 1 hour.
Strain the gravy, thicken it, add browning and season with more red currant juice or jelly to taste.
